BIO
Born in Recife – PE (Brazil, 1993), Gustavo started playing with art and creating characters from a very young age. In his introspection, he liked to play RPGs, watch fantasy animations, read, draw and write stories with his miniatures in the garden at home. And he never stopped.
He also spent hours in his grandmother's studio, an enchanted place full of fabrics, threads, treasures and memories.
He studied a degree in Visual Arts at UFPE for 3 years but due to daily challenges he decided to interrupt his academic studies. At the same time, he was already producing art and wanted with all his heart to make a living from it and travel. He dreamed of visiting other places, working on his communication and growing as an artist by exploring new paths of creation.
Thus, in 2016 he created his magical arts project TerraTundra, starting a life as a nomadic artist. He spent 4 years traveling through Brazil and Latin America on a journey of self-knowledge, discovery and new experiences around the world.
In 2020 he set up his studio in Araucária – PR where he currently lives and works. Since then, the project has taken root and continues to expand.
As an adult, he discovered he was a neurodivergent person (Autistic, ADHD and gifted) and began to understand more about his peculiarities. He transformed difficulties into social interaction, verbal communication and sensory stimuli by finding in artistic production a space to develop his skills and seek his place in the world.
Passionate about different languages, the artist has an incessant desire to create new universes with his work inspired by the mysteries of nature. Art has enabled ways to communicate with the outside world and express his soul in other ways - art speaks when the voice fails.
